Australian Travelling Art Journal Swap...My entry in "Laughter in Spite of the Pain"

The "smile" page represents how hard it is to smile when in any type of pain. I covered the page with Paynes Grey acrylic paint. It seemed more appropriate than black which was my initial idea. I then used some stencils and a baby wipe to move some of the colour and add some texture. I also did some  stenciling through the stencils with the paint. I printed out the clip art on matte photo paper and added them to the page. Again I did some stenciling to incorporate them into the page and to show the "smiles" through the pain. I printed out the words and went over them with black pastel glider. I added a bit of colour to the letters. The circles are from a napkin and are there to balance the page. I did some outlining with a brown permanent pen and edged the page with metallic green paint from Pentart.

The clown page - I started by stenciling the whole page with the Paynes Grey paint and added some metallic paint from Pentart to add some colour.  I then gesso'd the area where the clowns would go so that they would stand out more. They were also printed on matte photo paper. I printed out the quote and coloured the letters with neon pens (no name). I coloured over the cut out quote with gelatos to get rid of the white. Outlined the quote with gold paint pen and a black gel pen. Edged the page with metallic paint and added a bit more colour to the page with Pitt Big Brush Artist Pens. I also added the buttons coming out of the trumpet as the birds in the original clip art piece were too hard to save!!

Colour Challenge in Kraafters Kommunity - Orange and Blue

I did a tag that I covered with orangey/red mulberry paper. After that I stencilled the light blue modelling paste that I ist coloured with printer ink. I then adhered 5 dark blue pieces that I had coloured with crayon. Went over the blue bits with a glimmery paint. Added the bluey/green piece which was done with a stencil & yellow gesso on green card - changed the colour with crayons. Added the rub-on words that were also coloured with crayon.
The crayons I used are Pastel Gliders from Mont Marte and are similar to Gelatos.
Finally added the fibers to the top.

Wrap It Up Challenge...December Daily Inspiration Group

I used tissue paper for the background - the holly design.
The tag was made from some scrap card that I had painted. I added the kangaroo stamp - from StampinUp - coloured with prismacolor pencils. I journalled on the back as requested. I will probably re-write it as it is pinned on with piggy clips.
I made the bow from silver ribbon to match the corrugated silver card that I used for a pocket. Added the ric rac to the pocket and stamped & embossed the letters to make the title. Once again a stamp from SU. Also cut out the corners to finish off the page.

Kristy's Challenge for December Daily Week 3

Winter Wonderland
This is a double page spread with collaged elements, stamping and heat embossing. I also  embellished the page with a gold paint pen, pearl dots from a pentart paint pen, chalk ink splatters and rub-ons i.e. the pink & orange birds. The 'let it snow' is a sticker that I have had for years. The snowman is from StampinÚp  -it is heat embossed and accented with gel pens. The shimmer from the Pentart paint doesn't show too well.

Glitter and Gold

The ornament is done with a brass stencil and jac paper and 2 lots of glitter. the corners, flowers and butterfly are die cuts from gold paper. I also used gelatos.
The candle page is again done on jac paper. The candle image is from a die cut and coloured with Pitt pens. The sentiment is cut out of gold paper. The top and bottom edges is done with red glitter adhered to packing tape.

Something that represents me

The background on this page is done with used/dried tea bags. I adhered them with diluted pva and inked over them with distress ink. The background isn't very visible now as I decided to add the words. The tea bags represent me as I am a tea drinker and I love to recycle im my crafting. The page was put together with pieces that I had in my stash. The paper frame I have had for years. The green abstract pieces I did with a mixture of red & gold glitter and clear gesso. I used 2 different stencils to make the designs. I like the texture from this mix. the edging and words are from embossed card that I did some time ago. I think they are both cuttlebug embossing folders.

What I made for the Christmas Down Under Swap

This swap was organised by Jeanette...Scrappin Happyxo...on You Tube.

I had 5 partners and we all chose our individual colour schemes.

We had to make an ornament, a card and include a small gift bag of goodies.

#1...Cream/White/Gold

#2...CREAM/WHITE, SILVER & LILAC/PURPLE

 #3...RED/GREEN/GOLD/SILVER

#4...RED/GRREEN/WHITE - Traditional Shabby Chic

#5...WHITE/CREAM - Vintage Shabby Chic

Button Wreath Card

I made this card for a challenge from Nicky Parr in the International Crafters' Facebook group. I made a rough circle from multiple strands of string and then strung the buttons together with a single strand of string. I hot glued them to the string circle and added the little purple heart buttons in between after threading them with a thin piece of string . I made the string bow and added a red heart button to the centre.
I glued the button wreath to a piece of mulberry paper that I tore in a rough circular shape. I then added the sentiment which came from a Kaisercraft paper pad. I glued this to a paper background - again from Kaisercraft - and adhered it to the card base. The final touch was to add the green heart buttons in the corners.
